2007 Island Ford Motorama helps keep Haven Society’s motors running
The Pacific Coast Mustang Association is hosting the season opening car show for this area. The “2007 Island Ford Motorama” takes place on May 6, 2007 from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm at the Nanaimo Curling Club, 100 Wall Street. A wide variety of Ford vehicles of different ages ranging from stock to modified will be displayed, including newly completed vehicles that have been restored from the ground up, and featuring Ford’s brand new GT. Trophies will be presented based on Spectators Choice balloting and Best in Show category will be chosen by an appointed judge. This is a community event with local DJ Bruce Martin. Door prizes will be drawn, and food will be supplied by Nanaimo Curling Club’s own snack bar.
Major sponsors are Century 21 Icarus, Bakers Auto Supply, Big O Tires and Little Valley Restoration. Admission is by donation with the proceeds going to Haven Society. This is the second year that organizers have chosen Haven Society as the beneficiary for the event.
Elizabeth Hume, Resource Development Manager for Haven Society says ‘we are so grateful for the support of the PacificCoast Mustang Association, we depend a lot on community support in order to deliver our services to women and children escaping from violence. The proceeds from this event will really make a difference.’
Sam Bailey, President of the Pacific Coast Mustang Association says”it was a super show last year; that was the response from spectators, participants and sponsors! We are pleased to support Haven Society again this year because they do such important work in our community”.
Haven Society is a non-profit society and registered charity incorporated in 1978. Its mission is to promote the integrity and safety of women, children and families and the development of a respectful and healthy community.
