Haven Community Victim Services - Serving Nanaimo and Oceanside

Emotional support and justice related services for those coping with the aftermath of sexual assault, abuse and violence.

People need a place to talk about relationship violence, abuse, and sexual assault and may want to consider their options before contacting the police or any formal system. Community Victim Services provides justice-related support services and emotional support for survivors of physical abuse, sexual abuse or assault, or violence. Clients are supported in decisions about reporting to police, how and when to start the process, and how to create support networks or develop safety strategies.

Services include:
• Emotional support, risk assessment and safety planning
• Information on police, legal, and medical systems
• Accompaniment where possible to police and court
• Help with Crime Victim Assistance and other forms
• Advocacy, information and referrals
