Join us for the Take Back the Night March
Join us on April 2nd in Nanaimo for Take Back the Night, a powerful global movement with a long-standing history of standing against sexual violence.
What began decades ago as a movement to address violence against women has evolved into a worldwide call for change—supporting and empowering survivors of all gender identities, backgrounds, and cultures across the globe.
💜 This event is proudly hosted by Haven Society in Nanaimo.
📍 The march will begin at Beban Park and conclude at the Haven Society Community Services Building. We’ll gather at 5:00 PM, and the event will wrap up around 7:00 PM.
♿ Accessibility Note: Individuals are welcome to gather directly at Haven Society Community Services Building if participating in the March is a barrier.
💜While not mandatory, we encourage everyone to wear purple in support of the march!
Spread the word! Share this event with your family, friends, and community. Together, we can amplify our message, support survivors, and work toward a future free from violence. Let’s make this a night to remember—your voice matters, and so does theirs.
The event will be living streaming on our Instagram account.
Speakers
Meet Tracy Myers:
Tracy Myers first stepped onto the stage in 1993, performing spoken word as a solo artist. Since then, her bold and unapologetic feminist musings, paired with sharp commentary on a world in turmoil, have resonated with audiences across Vancouver Island. Tracy is deeply honored to be invited to share her voice at this year’s Take Back The Night event and is grateful to Haven Society for uniting all genders in a collective celebration of our right to walk and live in safety.
In addition to her artistry, Tracy is an activist, animist, counselor, and completely smitten grandma.
