Thanks to the incredible generosity of Haven Society donors and the support of the Nanaimo and Oceanside communities, Haven Society continues to offer a safe place for women, children and families to begin healing from domestic violence. Even the smallest donation has the power to truly transform a life, and we offer a very heartfelt and humble thank you for your ongoing support.
Each year Haven Society is required to fundraise a significant portion of our operating budgets from within the communities in which we serve. In Parksville – Qualicum we fundraise over 11% of our annual budget and in Nanaimo, nearly 19% of our budget comes from donations. These amounts allow us just to offer our current support and servicing, yet we know that we are still forced to turn women and children away due to lack of resources. The need is great…but our community and our donors are greater!
Haven Society relies on gifts of many types in order to serve the more than 3,000 women a year seeking support at Haven.

Monthly Donations
Committing any amount on a monthly basis helps provide us with stable funding that adds up over time and makes a lasting impact on the work we do at Haven Society. To become a monthly donor, please call 250-756-2452.
While we are no longer able to accept used or large items such as furniture and appliances, we greatly appreciate smaller donated items that we can pass along to our clients.
Gently Used Clothing
If you have gently used clothes in good condition that you would like to donate, we encourage you to consider Just Thrift – located at 4906 Wellington Road, Nanaimo [250-585-2223]
This is a privately owned business, distinct from Haven Society, but we maintain a wonderful relationship with them as they support our efforts.

A charitable Will bequest allows you to support our work in a way that combines your charitable and financial goals, helping provide a solid financial foundation for organizations like Haven Society. A bequest can be made at any time, for any amount you choose, and is easy to arrange by simply instructing your lawyer to include Haven Society in your Will.
